The purpose of this research is to examine the influence of the Israel lobby on the George W. Bush administration (2001- 2008). It also attempts to show that the Israel lobby derives its power from the neoconservative community. In this context, it tries to demonstrate that the growth of the Israel lobby’s influence is not only the result of its effective lobbying, but also the result of the neoconservatives’ coming to power. Moreover, this research attempts to explore the record of success of the Israel lobby during George W. Bush’s administration. This period is special because the US foreign policy in the Middle East witnessed a major shift from being based on diplomacy to becoming an interventionist policy. Therefore, my research tries to show that the break with the traditional foreign policy was the result of the weight of neoconservatism in Bush’s administration which had myriad impacts on the US national interest.
