Water is at the core of sustainable development and is critical for socio-economic development, healthy ecosystems and for human survival itself. It is vital for reducing the global burden of disease and improving the health, welfare and productivity of populations. Continuing population growth and urbanization, rapid industrialization, and the expansion and intensification of food production are all putting pressure on water resources and increasing the discharge of polluted water within and beyond national borders. Water infrastructures and technologies are unequal due to rural/urban areas, population, finances and stakeholder. Cameroon has engage many techniques and infrastructures to meet the ever increasing water demand varying from large (CamWater/Cde for Urban area), medium (Peri- Urban and rural areas), small (community and peer groups) and individual scale adduction. These technologies and infrastructures faces a wide range of threats and challenges which reduces the Government and other institute initiative to meet with the MDGs and the Cameroon 2035 vision as an emerging country. There are a lot of opportunities in this water domain if well managed.
